FANdom Con Rules
Only service animals are allowed into the convention space. Please refer to the ADA website for rules and regulations regarding service animals if you have further questions.
All autographs by convention guests will be free to badge holding FANdom attendees, unless otherwise stated. Specific autograph times will be set up for guests and select guests can be found at their vending tables in the Dealer’s Den when not attending a panel or event. Please be courteous of the guests and other FANdom attendees. Have one item ready for signing and move quickly. Please don’t monopolize a guest while others are waiting behind you. Attendees who have already received an autograph will not be barred from reentering the line for additional autographs.
Badges must be worn at all times. Please keep them in sight and display your badge when entering the Dealer’s Den, Artist Alley, Main Events and Panel rooms. Attendees caught without a badge will be barred from entering the before mentioned areas during convention hours.
Badges can be purchased at the Registration table located in the box office of the Emerald Coast Convention Center.
4. Bare Feet
Due to health risks, we ask all FANdom attendees to wear proper foot wear while attending the convention. Proper foot wear consists of; shoes, boots, sandals, aqua socks and slippers. Roller-blades, skates, or Heelys are not permitted.
5. Body Paint
As this has become a recent pandemic across conventions, please properly seal your body makeup and be respectful of others while wearing body paints. If a FANdom guest complains about you leaving makeup on costumes, merchandise or convention property you will be asked to leave and properly seal your makeup. If you receive yet another complaint you will be asked to remove your body paint from your extremities for the rest of the duration of the convention.
A good alternative to body paint on the arms or legs are pantie hose coverings or a zentai suit; both options are relatively cheap and a good investment and money saver.
6. Bodily Odor
No one likes a smelly fanboy or fangirl, please take a bath or shower, and use deodorant when necessary. As much as the Febreeze Ninja needs a job, we’d rather he have the weekend off.
7. Burning on Site
If you are found burning objects your badge will be confiscated and you will be barred from returning to the convention.
Smoking is prohibited in the convention space as per Florida law and 25 feet from any exit or entrance.
Drinking in the convention space is prohibited unless in a designated area. If you are found intoxicated during the convention you will be asked to leave and return when sober.
A table will be provided for free advertisement space for flyers, pamphlets and other items. Flyers cannot be hung on painted surfaces as per ECCC ruling, please refrain from posting anything on the walls of the convention space.
Live Action Role Playing (LARP) is permissible during FANdom. LARP should not disturb other FANdom attendees, panels or events and should not clog hallways. There is a beach located by the convention center in which guests may LARP.
Please respect the privacy of FANdom guests. Attendees will be able to acquire autographs from guests during specified times or at the dealers den. If a guest files a complaint on you it may result in the confiscation of your badge and removal from the convention.
13. Harassment and Assault
FANdom does not tolerate harassment. Harassment is any physical or verbal behavior that alarms, threatens, or annoys any person (s). This includes unwanted physical contact, stalking, threats of bodily harm, etc. Please report any harassment to event security and/or staff.
14. Illegal Substances
Any illegal substance abuse or paraphernalia will be reported to the proper authorities.
15. Indecent Exposure
All attendees must wear at least a standard (non thong) bikini swimsuit. FANdom reserves the right to have you change your attire. Repeat offenders will have their badge confiscated. Overt sexual behavior or attire will not be tolerated.
FANdom is not responsible for any loss, damage, theft, and/or injury. Attendees are responsible for their individual actions and any repercussions that may result. All emergency situations are to be handled by the proper authorities.
All merchandise must be payed for. Please wait in line and do not crowd the vendors and artists. Please refer to rule 24 in regards to theft. Any form of weapon purchased must be peace bonded immediately.
Minors at the age of 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or designated guardian. All guardians must be 18 and over and must register with the convention. The parent or guardian must be present at the venue at all times of the convention.
19. Noise Makers
The use of noise makers is restricted during FANdom. Items that produce a reasonable level of noise, such as electronic devices and instruments are acceptable. A reasonable level of noise is low enough not to travel far down hallways or be heard inside of panel or event rooms.
Items that should not be used inside the convention space are as follows; vuvuzelas, blow horns, megaphones, whistles, etc.
Cameras and camcorders are allowed within the convention space. Please be courteous of guest and attendees, ask for photos and use proper etiquette. For example; refrain from taking photos while people are eating unless they give permission.
Photographers and a may not charge attendees for photos/photo shoots unless under a vendors agreement or with express permission from FANdom Con. If you are found to be offering these services for profit you will be removed from the convention and barred from reentering.
FANdom does not permit the display or wearing of signs that offer goods or services. Signs deemed to have inappropriate content will be removed from your possession.
Please note, we do allow "glomp me" and "hug me" signs. However the wearing of these signs is at your own risk, FANdom and the Emerald Coast Convention Center hold no responsibility towards you. Refrain from placing these signs on other attendees, if you are caught placing a sign on an unwilling person, your badge will be confiscated and you will be escorted off the premises and barred from reentering the convention space.
22. Sleeping in the Convention Areas
Do not sleep in the convention area. Please return to your home or hotel room if you are sleepy. Cars are not sleeping spaces; the parking lots are part of the convention area.
FANdom Con is excited to see your cosplay from whatever your fandom may be. FANdom reserves the right to deem a costume unacceptable and request the wearer to make modifications or change clothing. FANdom is a family friendly event, please dress appropriately. Use common sense when choosing your costume and a good rule of thumb is that a costume should be no less than a standard bikini swimsuit.
24. Charging for Cosplay Photography
Individuals in or out of costumes may not charge or request any items, or money so an attendee may take a picture without the express written consent of FANdom Conventions Inc.. Attendees found to be requesting money or items of any nature to have their picture taken will be removed from the convention and barred from reentering.
Anyone caught shoplifting or thieving will be handed over to the authorities and have their badge confiscated. These individuals will be permanently banned from any future FANdom events.
Vending of any item or service is strictly prohibited without a vending agreement or consent by FANdom Con. This includes any item available for purchase in the Artist Alley or Dealer’s Den, and photography for profit or other services rendered.
The sale of food items is strictly limited to items such as candy, pocky, and ramune.
FANdom does not allow any functional projectile weapons; this includes but is not limited to: air soft guns, kunai, ninja stars, nerf guns, gun powder weaponry, paint ball gun, pellet gun, knives of any nature (metal), tomahawk, etc. Metal weapons are strictly prohibited at FANdom. If you are caught with any metal weapon before or during the convention it will be held by FANdom staff to be picked up at the end of the day; if you are caught doing it for a second time, your weapon will be confiscated along with your badge. Any permitted weapons must be checked and peace bonded.
Do not bring weapons that FANdom staff & the police officers cannot tell are fake from approximately ten feet away. FANdom has the right to declare any weapon inappropriate and/or dangerous. If your weapon is deemed dangerous it will be held at the FANdom staff table or you may place it in your vehicle. FANdom also reserves the right to check/process any weapon before or during convention times.
28. Photography Release
By attending our convention you understand that any photography and/or video taken during the event can and will be used under the discretion of FANdom Conventions Inc.. This includes but is not limited to press releases, televised media, social media, etc.
Rules are subject to change. FANdom reserves the right to change rules when and if necessary at any time.
